Before you go

Plan your trip

  • Visa and entry

Most visitors apply for a Uganda eVisa online before travel. The East Africa Tourist Visa covers Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda on one visa. Check the rules for your nationality on the official portal.

    Official eVisa portal
  • Health

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required to enter Uganda. Ask a travel clinic about malaria prevention and check current health notices.

  • Money

Park and permit fees for foreign visitors are quoted in US dollars. UWA accepts mobile money (MTN and Airtel), card machines and bank transfers.

  • Getting around

International flights land at Entebbe. Domestic flights serve Kihihi, Kisoro, Kasese, Pakuba and Kidepo; by road, a 4WD is best for park tracks.
