Overview
National ID replacements are requested through Irembo, either online or with an Irembo agent. A lost or stolen card is first declared to the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) through Irembo. Once approved, you pay and NIDA produces the card and sends it to the sector you selected. A temporary certificate is available while you wait.
Who can apply
Rwandan citizens and refugees holding a national or refugee ID number. Rwandans abroad use the separate diaspora replacement service.
