Overview
Every resident should be registered with the Social Health Authority. Salaried workers contribute 2.75% of gross salary through their employer. Others complete household means testing, which sets the contribution, subject to a minimum of KSh 300 a month. Coverage starts once contributions are up to date.

All Kenyan residents. Children are registered as dependants using their birth certificates.
