Know the institute before you apply
Uganda Technical College Kyema began in 2005 as a vocational training institute, set up by an organisation working to end child labour in tobacco-growing areas of Masindi, Hoima and Kiryandongo. It trained young people in carpentry, bricklaying and tailoring.
In 2010 the Ministry of Education and Sports took over the institute and upgraded it to a technical college offering diploma programmes in engineering and ICT alongside certificates.
